With the rise of technology and its integration into law enforcement, body-worn cameras (BWCs) have emerged as a transformative tool aiming to augment transparency, accountability, and trust within the community. In particular, the Aloha State has become engaged in this transformative process. The narrative surrounding Hawaii's Police Force and their implementation of body cameras poses an intriguing discourse.

Ever since BWCs entered the law enforcement landscape, they have been a hot topic of intense scrutiny, scientific research, and public debate. The devices, tiny enough to attach to a uniform or sunglasses, can capture video and audio recordings of interactions between police officers and the public.
